As a student pilot about to solo I admire and applaude the efforts of the FLIGHT ACROSS AMERICA. These fine people show what America is all about. This tribute is something all Americans can be proud of. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

I could not think of a better, all round person to take the TEXAS flag than John Campbell. I know him personaly and have done business with him for many years, would say since he first started. He is a wonderful, same everday person and know that this was a great experience for he and his father. I weat my Flight Across America proudly and what a better way for all states to participate together. Mildred Trammell, Burleson, TX

As a native New Yorker and an avid aviator, it still troubles me to the depths of my soul that cowardly terrorists would kill pilots, crewmembers, and innocent victims inside the aircraft and inside the buildings that they struck--using our beloved avation as their weapons of choice. I'm devoutly proud of the New Yorkers' spirit, perseverance, and commitment to our nation and the brave and courageous ways in which they responded to the tragedy in their midst. I'm equally proud of the behavior of those on Flight 93 who gave of their lives so that others might live. And, at the Pentagon, the headquarters of our military might, I'm sorry that so many died; I'm fiercely proud that our nation has pulled together to support the military and to promote security within and external to our borders. Thanks beyond measure to those of Flight Across America who so proudly and so valiantly "spoke" for all of us. Our heartfelt appreciation, Charlie and Ann Cooper

I realy think this is a fantastic realization. Congratulations!!! I am a Yang Pilot, but my profetion is on water: I am a conductor of ships and many women, here in Brazil, have the same dream that you. The AFA (Airforce Academy) has admited about 30 girls to iniciate a career as pilot. Seem that they'll be a success! I'm sorry for my English, but I'm glad talk with you. Glaucio Felix.

As a member of the North Jersey 99's,I had the honor & privledge of welcoming many of the extraordinary pilots that flew into Essex Airport (Caldwell) on Saturday 9/7/2002. Like many General Aviation events, it was an informal gathering of incredibly talented & briliant people. Many thanks to Molly, Chuck, the pilots from all around our Great Country, the flag bearers, passengers, families & friends of all of the above, & general aviators & supporters everywhere, for an awesome experience! blessings & blue skies, Lyn VanRiper New Private Pilot as of 7/10/2002

As I prepare to lay down my pen (keyboard) I remember vividly looking around the deck of the Intrepid that Sunday. Molly stood on the stage as we created a circle of colorful strength with our flags. She had done it. She had inspired the nation and brought us together with the passion we have for flight. What had been used as a weapon against us was again a powerful symbol of a freedom we hold dear. We came together to become part of the healing process. We educated those who thought General Aviation flight was something to be feared, and hopefully opened the skies to many future pilots. Thank you for the honor of being part of a powerful force. I will treasure the memory and the friendships I have made. And I will charish the joy of flying. Donna Miller, Flag Bearer Colorado

I think this was ans is a great idea. I hope we can do it again next year with more participation. We had just returned from a 21 day trip from SEA to OSH and on to FFA returning by way of DEN. We finished that flight on AUG 5th. Thanks for setting this up.

My brother Jon Enevoldsen was the proud flag bearer for the state of Nebraska. He and his wife, Patty, had a wonderful and moving experience participating in Flight Across America. Needless to say, we are all incredibly proud of them and all the participants! I was disappointed to see nothing in our local paper. When I called them, I was told that there would be no local interest! Well, I called everyone I could think of all over the country, and believe me, they were all interested. Anyway, Jon, Patty and all of you who flew -- THANK YOU for everything!

The flag bearers from California are safely home, but we will never be the same. A truly once in a life time experience. Here is an email I recieved yesterday from some special folkd we met on our return flight. I think it speaks volumes to the American Spirit.

Hello from Texas!! I would like to thank you so much for sending the picture's of all of us on the ramp at Signature, Austin. Wow.......you had just made my day. I was so bumbed out, it had been a year since September 11, and meeting you and the boy's that day just did something to me to help me cope. I was so Proud of what ya'll were doing, so Proud to be an American, and to have met you. When you left and I had said a Prayer for you and that the Angels were flying with you I felt so moved. Later that evening I had spoke with my sister in El Paso, her husband has stomach cancer and is going through the Chemo and Radiation treatments now, she started to cry when I told her about you all. She too was just so pleased and proud. God Bless you all on your Journey's, and may the Angel's fly with you Always! Thank you for crossing my path that day. I will never forget. "God Bless America", Land that I Love. PEACE, Linda Reynolds, Hertz Rant A Car, @Signature FBO, Austin, Texas/

"Thank you, Thank you"! It was a tremendous honor to have been one of the Flag Bearers on our Flight Across America. Now that I am safely back home, and reflecting on what I had the honor to be part of, I can honestly say that it was one of the most rewarding things I've ever been involved in. When I was given the opportunity to represent my beloved state of Montana, I had a lot of mixed feelings. Naturally, I was very proud and humbled. That was the easy part. But when Kirk Kleinholz, our coordinator, asked me to make a commitment, I hesitated. I took two days to worry about the responsibilities I was about to accept. Thank God I had the strength to say yes. I've been a firefighter for over 35 years now, and I'd like to think that I know what its like to make a commitment. Well, I'd be lying if I didn't tell everyone, this one had me worried. The airplane I wanted to use was a home built experimental that took me 13 years to build. And to make things even more interesting, I was in the middle of an engine up grade. The flying club I belong to has two 172's, and as luck would have it, when I called to reserve one as a back up, both had already been reserved. That meant I had no options. I had to get that engine installed and running with no problems. As luck would have it, I had lots of problems. But with lots of help and lots of hours, it happen. I had 2 hours on the engine when I headed to our capital, Helena, Montana to pick up our flag. The rest is history. When I finally arrived at Somerset, Pa, it was late in the evening, on the 5th of September. It had been a long day, and I was tired. But I could not believe the welcome I received. From that moment on, I knew I was among friends.

I have been reading some of the statements entered here, and although I sometimes find it difficult to put my feelings into words, I knew I had to try. So again I want to simply say "Thank you"! This was a good mission. The fantastic people that were involved made it so, and I am very proud to have been with them.

Speaking of missions: The young Officer at the Pentagon who talked to us briefly at our ceremony had the words I needed to hear. He said, "We will not win this war on the defense. We must win it on the offensive." That is what our young and old need to hear time & time again until everyone understands it. We must look under ever rock and dig them out in every corner of the world. We can not allow even one of them to go unpunished. For if we do, it would be like leaving one cancer cell alive in our otherwise healthy body called FREEDOM. That is what I needed to hear. This will be just one more burden of our freedom.

Sincerely,

Dave Miller A very proud Flag Bearer from the Big Sky country of MONTANA.

My personal congratulations to all the participants of Flight Across America. Special thanks to Charles Oppermann for bringing this national project into our small hometown when he visited my sixth grade classroom! Thanks also go to Donna Miller and Nancy Aldrich, Colorado flag bearers, for stopping at Atchison's Amelia Earhart Airport and visiting with children. This project allowed me to cast a very positive note on our Septemer 11 Remembrance Ceremony. My students recognize that goodness prevails, that patriotism is steadfast in this country, and that people support each other in times of crisis. Thank you for a job well-done!!! Dear fellow pilots and friends of FLAA,

I was honored and humbled to have been chosen to represent the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the best pilots America has to offer. 9-11 changed many people, and the first anniversary was more than just a chance to remember those lost in the attacks. It was a chance to celebrate America and the freedoms we all enjoy due to the sacrifices of our citizens. FLAA used the freedom of flight to deliver a message of peace, hope, and unity to the families and friends who suffered losses as a result of 9-11. FLAA started as an idea from one woman as a grass-roots effort, and quickly became a national celebration driven by the hearts and spirits of General Aviation Pilots. We met as strangers in Somerset, and left NYC as close friends. The memories I collected from four days of flying with these people will be cherished for the rest of my life.

I wish to thank Molly for her vision and the courage to transform that vision into reality, Chuck for his operational planning, Gus for the honor flight, Donna/Nancy/Kevin for Somerset and the Pentagon, all the volunteers on the ground who coordinated the Intrepid ceremony, and last but not least the flag bearers themselves. We stood for what is right and good about America, and in the end wrote a small piece of American history. I trust the historians will look upon our endeavor favorably as they rewrite the history books.

America lost many citizens on 9-11, but their sacrifice will not be in vain and their memory will forever live on and spur other Americans to greatness. Governor Mark Schweiker of Pennsylvania wrote in his proclamation to FLAA “Our citizens’ actions over the past months have revealed an important and profound aspect about America: that the one target the terrorists missed was America herself…we ask that all of our citizens remember that America is not a piece of ground, nor a place on the map...America is an ideal, a hope and a way of life.” God bless all the volunteers from FLAA and God bless America.

Sincerely,

David and Janet Pekala PA Flag Bearers N524P

To All,

Keep the memories of Flight Across America near to your hearts--but also keep the momentum rolling! Encourage new pilots, invite your community to flying events, and write to Warner Brothers, SONY, and the likes to produce movies & TV shows about aviation in a positive way. Keep 'em flying! Flight Across America Members,

We would like to take this opportunity thank Molly Peebles, her staff and all the pilots who flew to New York to make this event so awesome! Your efforts to put together a class act memorial was great. We were touched by your outpour of support to the FDNY & NYPD.

A larger THANK YOU goes to Vince Corrado, the State of OHIO flag bearer (from our hometown), who welcomed us and introduced us to so many pilots, staff and family of the flag bearers. Being from Dayton, Ohio the birthplace of avation, we hold a warm spot in our hearts for airplanes and flight in general.

A special thanks goes to Barb and Denise, staff members from the Interpid, who stored our gear(we came in directly from LaGuardia), introduced us to the press gathered at the event, gave us an air-conditioned room in which to relax after interviews and lunch and showed us around the museum. You ALL were SUPER! We will never forget you.

As Firefighter/EMT's who worked in New York last year during the recovery efforts we found that we needed to be back in NYC for closure after last year's mission. You have played a needed part in that hole in our hearts that was filled this past week. Your celebration of flight and continued support for flying will help our nation to rebound!

Our week was full of emotional events both up and down. Sunday, the memorial at the Intrepid. Monday we had lunch with our friends of FDNY's Engine 54 & Ladder 4 and Batalion 9. This station had the highest loss of life in the WTC collapse, 15 of 25 men. Tuesday morning a touching funeral for a FDNY Firefighter in the Bronx and afternoon tickets to the Late Show with David Letterman. Wednesday we proudly marched with the FDNY Bag Pipers from 47th St. through Times Square at 5:30 a.m. down to Ground Zero where we attended the services. That night we attended the opening of the "Heros at Ground Zero" art exhibit. Thursday, the Statue of Liberty, the FDNY Fire Museum and Ground Zero one last time. As you can see, our rollercoaster of emotions and rememberence of this past week that brought us back to the "Greatest City in the World" will always be in our hearts...

AMERICA IS GREAT! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Thanks again to Molly, Vince, Barb and Denese and all of you who made our first stop back in NYC a UPLIFTING one.

Lt. Dave Albers & FF Steve Cole Wayne Twp. Fire & Rescue 165 Miami St. Waynesville, Ohio 45068 www.interaxs.net/pub/wtfd or d.l.albers@ juno.com

P.S. Please come to Dayton in 2003 to help us celebrate the first 100 years of flight!

Molly, Chuck, many words have been and will continue to be spoken and written, all will attempt to share how much we in the aviation community (GA in particular) appreciate your efforts to help preserve what we treasure sooooo much. How you pulled it off is super human. After meeting you both I now understand. There are no words that can describe you both, and your accomplishment. GA has been moved up the ladder many rungs because of this. ..Thanks for wearing the patch :) May your return trip home be safe, and.... see you next time.

Flight Across America....A testament to Freedom, A Salute to Honor, An Aviator's Vision come true. On Sept. 8th, I was one proud pilot to have had the chance to help in making aviation history. The "Honor Flight" was a overwhelming tribute to our way of life....to the People of New York, to the Victim's of Sept. 11th, 2001. To send a message to the world that American Spirit is not a physical thing that can be torn down. We are united people of many colors, races, ethnic backgrounds, and religious beliefs, but we have many things in common. We cherish our right to choose, and pursue our own life and it's values. We are Americans.

Thanks Molly, Chuck, Noel, Bob W, Kirk, and all of you for making the FLAA a dignified and memorial tribute. On Sept. 10th, the morning of our departure, we had to do the Honor Flight route just one more time. To savor the moment and remember all of the friends we have made and say goodbye to a beautiful city and a friendly people. The sadness of leaving such wonderful people, but looking forward to standing on the ground of our homeland here in Michigan. God Bless You All, and God Bless America.

Flight Across America has been a wonderful example of the American Way in action! What could be a more enthusiastic response than to envision literally thousands of small, colorful airplanes rising to the skies to commemorate an event that, sadly, took place in too many shades of gray? We will always rise above! I am so proud to know Charles and Sue Stites who carried the North Carolina flag to New York in their beautiful 1949 Navion. Blue skies forever, N4891K ! M.L. September 11th, 2002 I will fly.

I will fly not because I have somewhere to go, rather, I will fly because I have the freedom to make that choice.

I will make this flight in memory of the people of New York City whose lives were tragically taken, and I will make this flight to honor those who have given their lives defending the freedom that allows me to make this choice - I will fly for America!

When I leave Eugene, Oregon's Mahlon Sweet Airport my destination will be Independance State Airport in Independance Oregon. I could not hope for a more appropriate airport to fly to on this day!

Gary Hair - Eugene, Oregon N7894W

10 Sep 2002

Tomorrow I can't fly as I am grounded for the duration of the aniversary. I was at work downtown Wall St today but tomorrow I will not be in the city. I will be in my hanger with my plane doing a 50 hour service. I remember, I will never forget but tomorrow it is just going to be to much for me so I will go where there is no TV or radio after observing the silence on the Jersey shore looking toward the city. I will then go and spend the day with this item, this piece of metal that provides me with the therapy that I need to deal with these crazy events of a year ago. You cannot buy therapy like this. I know why birds sing, so does anyone else who can follow me into the skies.

In the words of Charles Lindbergh

"I began to feel that I lived on a higher plane than the sceptics on the ground; one that was richer because of it's very association with the element of danger. In flying, I tasted a wine of the gods of which they could know nothing. Who valued life more highly, the aviators who spent it on the art they loved, or these misers who doled it out like pennies through their antlike days? I decided that if I could fly for ten years before I was killed in a crash, it would be a worthwhile trade for an ordinary life time".

We are the most privileged individuals on the planet, those of us that fly, make a pledge to find the words and the means to explain to others what this freedom means.

Gus Fraser your favorite Honor Flight Dispatcher FLAA

10 Sep 2002

I just learned of this event through AOPA when I made the suggestion to them that we make an effort (I'm a bit late for this year) to get as many pilots as possible to fly on September 11 every year. I plan to fly tommorrow (probably just a few laps around the pattern) myself, just because I can. I am going to make this a point every year as long as I can. I hope that many pilots will do this as a way of remembering what happened to this precious freedom on this day in 2001. I have been a pilot since completing my training with the U. S. Navy in November 1982. After flying some of the more complex aircraft many private pilots ever get close to, I have graduated to a '73 Piper Warrior my wife and I bought since the tragic events of last year. In these 20 years of flying, I never heard an ATIS broadcast as ominous as the one on September 11 last year "...ground stop all aircraft until further notice...". I hope I never hear something like that again in my life. I fear that if we don't keep remembering that event it would be a lot easier for it to happen again.

September 10, 2002 A Brief Recap of Our Experience: Stephen Solenzio and Lisa Parente of Connecticut

Participating in Flight Across America was an incredible and overwhelming experience. The patriotism and compassion for the country as well as for those lost on 9/11/01 was truly demonstrated by all pilots, co-pilots, and family members and friends who were along for the journey.

Molly’s vision for using general aviation to unite the people of this great country, and to pay a special tribute to America, manifested into an incredible national event that drew patriots from every state — culminating with the Honor Flight down the Hudson River, and the presentation of every state flag to the City of New York.

We found this to be an emotional yet healing event, which displayed the true power of freedom and the strength and unity of the American people. We were honored to have the opportunity to get to know the state representatives who dedicated their time and hearts to this special tribute — a group of individuals who are passionate about flying and who all possess the true ”American” spirit and sense of adventure.

We would like to thank the numerous people who helped to organize and orchestrate this event — especially all of the volunteers and sponsors who provided ground transportation, meals, and security.

Our hearts break as we approach tomorrow morning, which will mark the first year anniversary of such a devastating and tragic day in our history. But I can also say that all of those involved in Flight Across America lifted our spirits and further renewed our faith in people, America, “goodness”, and in God.

God Bless All of You and God Bless America!

N3KT Correction, we departed August 22, 2002 from Van Nuys, California

10 Sep 2002

N3KT, Beechcraft Sundowner departed Van Nuys, CA (KVNY) on August 29 for Martha's Vineyard, MA (KMVY). We made 22 stops for fuel, lodging and fun along the way. We returned to Van Nuys yesterday, September 9.

Our routing was Mesquite, NV (K67L); Provo, UT (KPVU); Rock Springs, WY (KRKS); Cheyenne, WY (KCYS); North Platte, NE (KLBF); Omaha, NE (KOMA); Illinois Valley, IL (KVYS); Three Rivers, MI (KHAI); South Bend, IN (KSBN); Allegheny, PA (KAGC); Teterboro, NJ (KTEB); Martha's Vineyard, MA KMVY); Reading, PA (KRDG); Allegheny, PA (KAGC); Zanesville, OH (KZZV); Coles Country, IL (KMTO); Kansas City, MO (KMKC); Liberal, KS (KLBL); Las Vegas, NM (KLVS); Santa Fe, NM (KSAF); Winslow, AZ (KINW); Bullhead City, AZ (KIFP) and back home to Van Nuys, CA (KVNY). We got lucky with weather and only needed two instrument flight plans.

General Aviation is a right all Americans are entitled to have, but times are different now. We found ourselves being the eyes and ears for General Aviation, observing the people we met along the way, keeping watch for those who pose a threat to our country and livelihood. We are vigilant and protective of our right to fly.

To all those wonderful people working in FBO's across America, we thank you. Your jobs are often as thankless as they are rewarding, but you should know you serve the aviation business with pride and how important you are to this industry.

And, to ALL the many nameless air traffic controllers; you are the heart and soul of the entire aviation industry, Thank you all for having a professional and caring attitude for our requests for flight following across this great country. We could not have done this VFR trip without each and every one of you.

The freedoms granted to us under our Constitution are ours to protect. We hope our trip will inspire others to do the same.

We dedicate this cross country trip from coast to coast to those who gave their lives on September 11, 2001 and we honor their memories with this journey.

Sincerely, William and Cynthia Stage N3KT stage3@msn.com

Mass Flag Bearers: Pilot Willard J Boulter Jr and Co-Pilot John Marchelletta, both of Pembroke Mass flew from Plymouth Airport (America's Home Town) to all three sites, Pa for "Flight 93", Pentagon, and New York "Twin Towers". It was with great Honor that we carried the State Flag of Massachusetts to all these locations and gave this flag in Honor to the People of New York. Something that "We Will Never Forget". As I flew down the Hudson River with 52 other planes past the site of where the Twin Towers once stood and passed the "Lady" Statue of Liberty my eyes filled with tears and my heart pounded with pride. The feeling of being an American was the greatest of all. Thank You and God Bless America.

The events of September 11 shook the very core of our precious freedom as Americans to achieve our dreams. Both my son and I both fly. I will never forget the day I stood along side runway 17 of our local airport on September 10, 2000 to watch my son take to the air solo. As his father, I was both nervous and excited. Among my first thoughts was how truely free we are as Americans to live our dreams. My son had achieved a dream he had held since the age of three, to become a pilot. I, too, held the same dream from a very early age. But, I didn't begin my flight training until January, 2001 at age 54. My first solo was on May 12, 2001. As a student pilot I soon fell in love with the true sense of freedom flying gave my soul. On Sept. 11 I was three days away from taking my scheduled FAA checkride. Although my flight training was delayed for several months because of the TFRs for the DFW Class B airspace, I didn't lose sight of completing what I set out to do. I finally became a private pilot on May 20, 2002. I lived a life-long dream, but I am forever mindful of the price we as Americans have paid to perserve our right to achieve our dreams and pursue our lives as we choose.

On September 11, 2002 just before sunset, I will be at the controls of my airplane as I take off into the heavens in loving memory of all those affected by the events of that tragic day. I will execute eleven take offs and landings, and with each pattern circuit remind myself of the value of being an American. God Bless all of the victims of Sept 11 and their families. May your souls share the cockpit with me on that day and every day I fly. I am honored to be a part of the Flight Across American to honor you, and am grateful to the event organizers for the opportunity to participate. I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! I'm proud to be a pilot!

Thank you Molly for letting GA pilots honor all those who died on 9/11. It was a great undertaking you did. I think of those poor people who perished on that day. I was a student at the time & of course my lessons were interpted. Of course that was minor compared to the tragedy. Ironically my flight instrustor's brother was here from England & was originally scheduled to have a meeting in the WTC on that tragic day. By the grace of God it was moved up a week. It really shook both of us up. It really brought light to the situtation. May God bless you Molly for your GREAT work & also bless this great country of ours. We will NEVER surender!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are proud that Gilbert and Jane Powers are representing our great state of Missouri in this event. My husband Jerry Schmidt is fortunate to accompany them as their official photo journalist. I believe that participating in and documenting events like this will help all of us come to grips with what happened that terrible day, and become stronger and more united as a country. Hello, This is a great tribute to the lives that were lost on 9/11. I am glad that you formed the opportunity for all of GA to pay tribute to those folks. Thanks.

Reading about this group of wonderful people once again lifts my spirits and brings to mind the importance of showing our American spirit. We live in the greatest country in the world. Thanks for bringing this tous.

Reading about my friend Emmett Carson of Lafayette, LA, who will be brining the Louisiana state flag was a real treat. God Bless You All and bring you safely home.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to observe the 9-11 anniversary through celebrating the joyous freedom of flight. As a flight instructor, I was thrilled that my student pilot wanted to use a standard training flight as an opportunity to participate in FLIGHT ACROSS AMERICA. We both love our country, love to fly, and enjoyed the chance to combine these loyaties to honor the victims of 9-11, and ensure the spirit and freedom of aviation lives on in America!

Thank you for organizing this wonderful event, MayCay Beeler CFI!,ATP GSO

Greetings to Everyone. I want to say how very proud I am to have my father, John Dion, chosen as the Iowa presenter. He is excited and honored to be chosen to participate. I have been following the progress of this event as a native New Jerseyan. My daughter and I took a client to the Windows of the World's magnificent rest. 3 years ago. The view of all boroughs was breathtaking. The New York skyline filled us with excitement in the city that never sleeps. I miss it along with the rest of the nation. We watched in horror as the tragedy unfolded with so many lives lost. The srength of our great nation and comaraderie of a city united has provided hope to all of us. New York will indeed continue to rise up and I am assured a fitting memorial will be carefully selected. As the horror of that morning unfolded we waited in fear for a call from my father as we knew he was flying his plane back to Iowa. Due to the phone interruptions it was hours before we were able to find out he was safe. God Bless America. Diane Dion

In rememberance of our fellow aviators and the precious passengers they carried en-route with them:

United Airlines Flight # 175 American Airlines Flight # 11 United Airlines Flight # 93 American Airlines Flight # 77

There is not a day that passes in which I don't think about each and every one of you. I as a student pilot, know that every time I take the controls of my plane, you are watching over me from above. May you finally be in peace.

I am so proud to be an American. My parents are the flag bearers for Indiana and am so proud of them and all the participants as well. I think this is a wonderful thing for the people of New York and Pennsylvania. It lets them know the whole country is thinking of them.

I think this is a phenomenal thing you're doing. Wish I could participate in some way. Have flown my flag every day since August 31st, and will continue to do so all through September. I'm proud to be an American, and I'm proud of you for taking this on. Safe trip and fly those Colorado colors for the world to see! We may not live in New York, but we still feel it every day. God bless you!

We have fought for this Freedom; we have died for this Freedom; and we live for this Freedom! We will forever Respect and Salute the heroic courage of those who gave their Final Measure of Service to our great nation! THANK YOU for your unselfish efforts to help remember those Heroes!

To those who would dare to threaten our precious Freedom -- BEWARE! YOU LEARNED NOTHING FROM OUR FIRST FLAG! You will certainly learn something from our current flag! God Bless America, and . . .

With the tragic events last year, it makes me so proud to see such a amazing strength of our fellow Americans,in what we can accomplish out of the ashes of something so horrible. I commend all who have flown in rememberance of those that gave the ultimate sacrifice, and what better way to show our solidarity by Flying Across America. I will dedicate all my flights from now on to those who gave their lives so i could live in peace and freedom and enjoy the thrill of FLYING.

This freedom we share to fly as pilots is one of the great freedoms of America. September 11, 2001 seventeen people used this a an instrument of death. Now with Flight Across Ameica we are using it to celebrate life. As we approach the one anniversary of the tragedy of September 11, 2001, let us remember those who lost their life that day, and say a silent prayer for each of their familys and friends.

As pilots we are expressing our freedom to fly, and honoring those whose lives were lost on 9-11-01. Aviation was born here in the land of the free. I am proud to stand, united, with my fellow pilots and all Americans , as we honor the lives of those taken so tragically on September 11, 2001. We also honor all the heroes of that day who so unselfishly gave of themselves, some with their own life. We celebrate our freedoms of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in a land our forefathers fought and died for.

I personally think that this is a wonderful show of support to the victims and families of the 9/11 tragedies and to the people of the United States - to see people join together to make a mass statement of support is awe inspiring. My brother is the Louisiana delegate - it feels wonderful to have a little "personal interest" in an event like this. Thank you all for putting this together.

Sincerely, Linda Carson
