State Flags

An important part of the Flight Across America celebration includes transporting each state flag from all fifty United States to New York City.  A state flag will be flown by aircraft participating in the Flight Across America from the capitol of its state of origin to New York City.

On September 8, the selected pilots will fly their aircraft, with state flag aboard, in a loose parade of planes down the Hudson River, past ground zero and the Statue of Liberty.  Later that day, the flags will be presented in a ceremony aboard the USS Intrepid, moored on the west shore of Manhattan.
