Introduction

My name is Ken Jackson, from Sandpoint, Idaho. My wife of 30 years and I own an IFR 1999 Cessna T206H.  Our principal use of 25AK is for back country recreation, on flights west of the Mississippi, from Mexico to the Arctic Circle.  I am on the board of the Idaho Aviation Association, and fly frequent missions for Angel Flight.  While I manage to operate my two commercial properties, I officially retired last October, ending a long entrepreneurial career. Anne & I have two wonderful grown children.

I've never been to New York, but I always knew that there would someday come a meaningful reason to go.  Like all Americans, and other freedom loving persons on this planet, I was horrified by the events of September 11, 2001. I continue to feel grief and loss for the victims, their families, and our nation. This is a global sized wound on the soul of humanity. It will take a long time to heal.

The Flight Across America will be a good sized measure of healing medicine; for all who participate, and for those who observe the event as an exercise in solidarity, patriotism, and healing. That is why I think it important that we flag bearers do our utmost to publicize the event, and our flights. I have scheduled 9 flights and 8 media events. Let's all hound the press until they promise to show up at our  en route airports.

It is an honor and privilege to be given this opportunity to act in a positive way. May all of our flights be safe; may we all enjoy tailwinds. See you in New York!
